Discovering My Surrounding

A tyre was kept and that's all. It started with rolling, cleaning, sitting inside and going through the tyre. Then came the idea of making an obstacle race. They started collecting obstacles. Some stones, duppatas, a plank and bricks made the obstacle race.

There was lot of discussions, agreement, disagreement, thinking, exploring, supporting, failing, making rules. My ideas... Your ideas... Our ideas...

Sometimes they were leading, sometimes they were following. There was a team working together towards a goal😃😃😃

I woke up when I felt a hand on me, apparently pushing me. It was a girl, and everyone called her Smriti. She played with me like I was a toy but I wanted to tell her, I am a Tyre !!! 

Next, everybody wiped me and cleaned me, to take out the dust that was sitting on me for months. They made me fall with dooooommm... a lot of dust came out of me.. Another girl stepped back to avoid dust, her name was Sadvika.

Finally all of them teamed to lift me. They lifted me and made me fall again to get the dust out.  

Amogha, one of the girl said, let's do an obstacle course. All the others agreed. They took out some wails then tied to two poles, The wails said- "They are going to jump over us! Yippee.. " They then some got bricks, some got rocks and a game board.

The game board said " look at me I am rectangular then",  and again they made me fall again and kept some paint bottles on me and wiggly cloth pieces and chalk, they began jumping over the way, they zig-zagged between the bricks.

The two wails said, "They are going to wrap us around them". The board said "The rocks are going to be on me", "Next is me"  Amogha said," There are paint cans on me they have to take a round around me without making the paints cans fall" if they complete one round of obstacle course, they achieve a point!! "

Two people could score.. later they just enjoyed the obstacles and forgot about the scores and that's how the obstacle course went..

I thought "The world is nothing without creativity!!!"

1st week of May Fun and Learning

1st week of Fun and Learning in May.  Day 1  - Fun and learning started with playing game and listing down things we want to explore. Games are one way to build connection...it happens instantly even among the strangers.  Usually when children come to a session there is a readymade curriculum/list of activities which are planned. We had not planned any curriculum. We discussed and co created with children. We decided what to do this week.  The task was they had to list 5 things that they want to do and then convince others…. Sell their ideas to the whole group. Somehow we adults think we know more or we can plan better. We were surprised (as always) with the varied list of things children wanted to do. There was nothing stopping them…. even the barriers of having the session online. Lacing around

 Aunt: Wohoooo! you got a new shoe. Look at that its amazingly bright. I love the pink and orange patches on your shoes. Oh it has lace. Do you know how to tie lace.  Boy: No (looking at the lace) Aunt: Do you want to try it yourself Boy: ahhhh! (sounding lost, still fiddling with lace) Aunt: Ok looks like you need help of the expert! Ahem! thats me Boy: Can you teach me? (with wide and bright eyes) Aunt: Ofcourse, ok lets start.  1st step : wear your shoes 2nd step : hold both the threads in your hands, No not like that one with your right hand and one lace with your left hand. 3rd step: Make a X  4th step: make the lace in the right hand go inside the loop you have made by making the X. 5th step: Pull that lace with right hand, Now you have got a not. If you pull both sides it will tighten. If you keep pully it will tighten and tighten and tighten Now the 6th step is we make one inverted U on left and one inverted U on right... it will look like a butterfly or a bo...
